Updated layout of topic list

We have updated topic list layout in Similarr.

For each search page it is placed Bulletin Board section at the top with Add Note link. New Message button is now replaced with Add Note link.

Added ‘nofollow’ for search results

We have added ‘nofollow’ tag for search results links in Similarr. Major search engines will not index and follow links in Similarr search results.

We have also updated layout of search pages and placed logo close to the search input area.

Update of Similarr home

We have removed recent searches from the Similarr home page. Recent searches was there to join discussion which just appeared. Major search engines indexes also search pages without discussion and this is not what we want to do.

Primary goal is to index discussion and not search results.

We will keep recent searches on other pages, because of better clicks rate on advertisment.

Similarr has a PageRank 4

Similarr has been launched three months ago. We would like to anounce that similarr has a PageRank 4 currently.

PageRank is a numeric value counted by Google that represents how important a page is on the web. PageRank value is between PR1 and PR10 (the maximum).

We would like also to inform about new page similarr current work where it’s written current work and plans for similarr.com.

Recent Searches on the Home Page

We have placed recent searches on the main screen of Similarr.
Searches which have posts are displayed also with number of posts.

We have also changed design of “Post a New Message”.

We have made more clearer posting a new message. You don’t need to fill subject of message now.

We are displaying if registered users are online close to each post.

Finally we have placed links to Login and Register on the main screen of Similarr.

List of Topics are now placed on the Top

We have made some improvements in Similarr.

The main improvement is that topics are now placed on the top of search page instead of right side. It’s because we want to make user interface more clear. Displaying topics on the top should also more motivate you to post new topics.

Small improvements we have made:

automatic subject from the search query
subject is not displayed for each post, it is displayed only once per topic

Now it’s detected browser language you are using and accordingly search results are adjusted to your language preferences.

Two Small Improvements

We have made two small improvements in similarr.

We have decrease number of characters in the search results. Search results now looks more clearly. Thanks to this change the number of results were increased to 15 search results, instead of previous 10 results.

We have also put page views on every search page. It shows how many times the page has been displayed in total by all people. It is displayed on the right side close to the number of topics.
